I'm using agents to write code all the time now. Last year it was just autocomplete and now it's all agents. I was skeptical at first but now see the potential. I'm still learning so I expect my approach to change every few months but here's what Im doing now. 👇

I was just thinking this morning actually that AI is taking some of my drive away. I am less fired up to sit in front of an LLM and prompt all day, as opposed to before when I would just write code. I’m still looking for the right balance.

I'm trying to find it too. I think I miss the dopamine hits I would get from solving smaller coding problems all day lol

Yea there’s something about banging your head against a problem and then finally reaching a solution that seems better and more rewarding than prompting.

I know you learn more this way. You end up understanding the problem better so the investment is worth it. But not for all tasks. Knowing when to use AI is a hard problem. True innovation comes from banging your head against the wall.
