1/9 46,000 TPS with 20ms block times. That's what @FogoChain hit on devnet Built by the @PythNetwork oracle team as a Solana-compatible L1. They made some interesting trade-offs to get these numbers 🧵 https://t.co/8L8dKoHyFE 2/9 Everyone runs the same client - @jump_firedancer by @jump_. Most chains run multiple clients for security. Fogo decided speed matters more Currently using #Frankendancer (hybrid version), moving to pure #Firedancer when it's production-ready

3/9 Multi-local consensus is where it gets interesting. Validators co-locate in geographical zones for ultra-low latency, then rotate zones each epoch When validators sit in the same zone, block times drop below 100ms. Like HFT shops following the sun around the globe 4/9 Rotation happens for 3 reasons: 1️⃣ Regulatory decentralization (avoid single jurisdiction control) 2️⃣ Infrastructure resilience (regional outages can't kill network) 3️⃣ Strategic positioning (near financial data sources)

Falls back to 400ms global consensus if zones fail 5/9 Curated validator set of 20-50 participants. You need minimum stake AND operational approval to join Validators who miss blocks or run slow hardware get voted out by the others. Economic stake plus social reputation 6/9 Two-tier key system keeps things secure during zone rotations: 🔥Global keys: identity, staking, governance (kept offline) 🔥Zone keys: consensus participation (rotated as validators move)

New zone keys activate at epoch boundaries so everyone has prep time 7/9 Some testnet integrations: - @ambient_finance for DEX - @PythNetwork for oracles (same team) @wormhole for bridging Fogoscan explorer tracking 40ms block times Flames Points Program rewards early participants. Raised $8M at $100M valuation via Cobie's Echo platform

8/9 The trade-offs: one client means less diversity. Curated validators means you can't just spin up a node. Moving datacenters every epoch sounds like a pain But for HFT-level performance on blockchain? Maybe worth it 9/9 FogoChain is what you get when ex-tradfi engineers build a blockchain. Speed first, everything else secon Want to understand how zone rotation actually works and why Firedancer matters? Full breakdown in our Medium article: https://t.co/xQ1wt8r7Zh
