I have gained some weight since becoming a dad and want to get back into running and lifting once the nanny starts. Any tips on good running shoes for a flatfooted man? Or any good weight routines?

Don't disregard walking. Easier on your body and won't trigger your hunger like running will. Weights. I do compound lifts, full body 3x a week. Lifts from the 5x5 program. I don't go crazy heavy so I'll do a warmup set then 3 10 rep sets ( make sure the last 2 to 3 reps are difficult).
