I am so deeply frustrated that the categorically needy — 17,000,000 Americans — lost a chance at healthcare and economic stability.

We gave kids meals, impoverished a chance to live, and young mothers hope.

What is the point of government if not to help those that can’t help themselves?

I’m no longer on Medicaid or SNAP, but when I was struggling both those programs helped me immensely. I was on Medicaid when I had a medical emergency that would have killed me if I hadn’t been able to get immediate care. It makes me sick to think of the lives that are going to be lost.
