If it so easy to become a professional athlete, one of the thing most people will want to be doing is playing Football,  basketball, hockey, baseball, American football, cricket e.t.c.

Once you are professional and still under contract the team will continue to pay till you are our of contract, even though you don't play do to injuries or other factors you will get paid.
