In my attempt to go 10 reps with 120kg (122.8kg here), i have once again failed. Advice? Thoughts? Opinion? Would love to hear. Nothing can fully prepare the mind for failure. Nobody likes to fail, it’s draining, both physically and mentally. Even heard someone say “it’s too heavy for him” in the background đŸ˜Ș I didn’t talk all through after this, just completed my routine and moved on, just another day huh. But i remember, there was once a time where i couldn’t go 10 reps with 100kg, and now i can go 15 reps clean, maybe i did something wrong? Maybe i was meant to fail this time so i can think back? (These were the many thoughts going through my mind) I will try again on Monday. Lightweight baby!!!

I like a wider grip for more on chest less on front delta. Also 10 reps is a lot for new weights, look up 5x5 and strong lifts (12 week programme)that is how i always made gains

And BTW can almost guarantee whoever made the stupid comment about weight too heavy, probably never lifted a personal best in years

Been a while i did wider grip, will do that, but doesn’t feel as good. I can’t consider it optimal. How do you mean new weights?

I won't count on that. In fact, if he is used to this grip, he will lose strength if he adjusts it for a PR. I would only suggest changing grips every 2 or 3 months if hypertrophy progress is slow def not for strength.
