exactly! I think way more people would minting onchain as a habit if it wasn't associated with constantly selling at the same time as minting.

Instead of mint to sell now, mint to own now. And keep options open for the future.

anyone wanna build this as a mini app?

goal would be to let ppl easily mint 1/1s directly to their own wallet (art, photos, posts, etc) - full ownership stays w the creator and they retain complete optionality

ownership first, monetization second as a choice instead of default, still a free market

personally if i retain full control (i.e. by minting it i am not locked in to any future fee), it removes the hesitation of “do i put this onchain yet, or should i wait until there is more demand”

the mini app could generate rev by creating a simple market place for 1/1 listings, auctions, open editions, or coining, while taking a small 0.5-1% cut

this is the route i would choose every time bc it gives me the most flexibility - get a true read on the market, and worst case i just own my photo long term

This is literally the opposite of that mindset—especially for art NFTs—where NFT markets prioritized quantity over quality. Honestly, if there were fewer NFTs, those platforms wouldn’t make as much money!
