On March 24, the total stablecoin market capitalization on Aptos exceeded $1 billion for the first time!

This growth came mostly from the native launches of USDT (Tether) and USDC (Circle). USDe (from Ethena) joined the ecosystem in late February through a bridge contract.

➤ Here are a few other notable stables on Aptos:

1/ $BUIDL ( @Securitize ) – BlackRock’s tokenized liquid fund, backed by USD, treasuries, and repo deals.

Pays out monthly via new tokens. It went from $1M to $52M on Dec 25 — and sits at $53.2M as of May 2.

2/ $USDY

It's Ondo’s yield-bearing dollar token, backed by short-term bonds (~99%) and bank deposits (~1%).

It doesn’t rebase, the price just goes up with yield. From Aug 2024 to May 2, USDY’s market cap on Aptos declined from $15.4M to $6.85M.

3/ $MOD (Move Dollar) 

It's an overcollateralized stablecoin that can be minted, and thereby borrowed, by depositing a supported collateral asset in a vault on @ThalaLabs.

Since September 30 (2024) to May 2 (2025), MOD’s market cap declined from $15.3M to $2.09M.

→ Final thoughts

I see Aptos as an early-blooming flower, just beginning to blossom.

Aptos Build is the best platform right now if you want to launch something fast and focus on building an amazing product.

At the same time, as DeFi activity and user metrics continue to grow, the Aptos team is already working on scaling solutions like Zaptos and Shardines to keep the network lightning-fast, aiming for 1 million TPS as it grows into a global transaction layer.
