Does the Circle IPO and its price action today open the door for Stripe to go public?

No cuz stripe is actually very very profitable and they donβt want to go public unless they need cash unlike circle The door has always been open for stripe imo and they know it π

Seems more like Circle mispriced their own shares by selling to bankers at $31. Not a great IPO if you were a shareholder who sold just to IPO.

Another way to frame this would be, "Would Coinbase go back to being a private company?" There's a good deal of value and security that comes from being rated as a public company (better lines of credit, transnational agreements), but it also is a huge undertaking by the company. Two years to be ready to begin the SEC process, which has no guarantee of success.
