*Update on how channels are rendered on the side panel on mobile. (Web client stays as is)*

This section was used less than 1% of daily active users and was a heavy burden of performance on the app overall for larger percentage of users.

We are keeping all your favorite channels in the side panel as is.

Rest of the channels are located on the "Manage channels" screen.

If you find yourself navigate to certain channel more than others and want a quick access — favorite them and it will show up in the panel.

Really big change made in stealth mode while the biggest channel users were all offline chatting in person about how to make channels better. 

RIP Channels. 

If your channel isn’t someone’s favorite, they aren’t going to go this many steps to find it and scroll it.

They never did?

Like I mentioned in my post — people don't visit channels using the panel.

They visit using the pills on the casts on home feed and swipe action from tabs.

You are overreacting to a minute change and creating an issue out of nothing.

But we can’t choose those at the top. 

No one is going to go in 4 steps to manage channels to check on a channel. If we can’t access it quickly, it’s not getting used. 

And if no one is truly using this, then no one is scrolling channels and we are wasting a lot of time trying to keep them scrollable and full of good content.
