One of my weirdest beliefs is that complex entities are literally alive and conscious. Companies, cities, AIs, memes. They all have qualia (aka internal conscious experience) We control them, and also they control us to a higher extent than most ppl believe.

How does a company collapse the quantum wave function? I'm aware this isn't really answered in humans, but we obviously believe in some locus for this in the brain. What is the equivalent in an organization? I actually really like this thought. I've always suspected there is life outside of earth but it is so different that we do not have the means to detect it or recognize it as life. Recognizing memes, orgs, govs have qualia is a stepping stone to this idea

Idk much about this. Why must the brain collapse the quantum wave function? Idk what it means for a brain to do that

I've only heard the idea of qualia in the context of Federico Faggin, so maybe you are referencing qualia in a way I am unfamiliar But basically Faggin says quantum physics dictates some things aren't determined until they are observed. There is a wave function of probabilities when unobserved, but once observed, the wave collapses to a definite, known thing. Federico Faggin's theory suggests that qualia, the collapse of the wave function, and consciousness/free will are interconnected phenomena arising from the fundamental quantum processes in the brain, where consciousness is seen as a form of quantum computation that enables subjective experiences and decision-making. https://youtu.be/0FUFewGHLLg?si=j_fOkcyXBI5FmGLr
