Lore Alert About 7 years ago, I decided I wanted to leave IT and become a Pilot. From a kid, I always wanted to be a pilot, but I didn't have the means to do all the expensive training. At about 28 I decided I wanted to give it a go. Got my PPL (Private pilots licence) which takes 45 hours of flight time. I solo'd really quick, like 10 hours. Most take 20 - 25 at my club. I've always been a "wheel man", I learnt to drive at 14, had a racing licence by 17. Anything with wheels and and engine, and this time wings, I take to instantly. So I knew I'd be good at this. I loved every bit of it, the pre checks, the feeling of floating around in this tin can above the world on your own, the radio work, all of it. Anyway, I just got my PPL, and was about the start the CPL (commercial stuff) and we had our first kid, and I realised overnight that the career I had (IT) was much better suited to "family" life. Straight away, I stopped and because I worked at home mostly, and even more now. I got the spend the first 4 years of my first borns life with them in the house, and now the first 1 year of my second. Regrets? Yeah I bet I could of done it. but No, Family time over grind time. I'll always be a PPL holder, forever. This is like my trophy from this time in my life. The internet (and crypto) is powerful for many reasons, being able to earn while at home is an underrated one IMO.
