Curious how often people make actual $ bets with friends?

idk man people (usually) don't want others to know when they lose 

and plenty of people would have problems taking that money from friends

me, I'll take your money any day - a bet is a bet 

but seems like most people would rather take it from "the house" (the sum of strangers on the opposite side)

winning is fun...

winning at the expense of someone else is better
