...because spending isn't even half of the equation? deficit = (revenue + taxes) - spending, ??? is GDP rising as a result of spending programs? is govt collecting more taxes bc GDP is rising? completely oversimplifying the issue with this framing. you can absolutely spend money to make money.

Unfortunately nobody seems to care about reducing the deficit, so not going to happen. Especially with fed interest rates and over $1T per year just to service interest…
