Sounds legit right? I even believed this until yesterday, but it's false. 

It's not even a misdemeanor. It's an infraction on par with a speeding ticket. Not a crime.

yeah civil offense, so instead they started charging them each $998 per day for 5 years max ($1.8millon total) to get them to leave so they'll drop the fines (and give them a free flight home and $1000 cash)

Wow I didn’t know there are already fines that high. Makes it even more insane how much $ is being spent on the theatrical cruelty.
