Russians reserve their friendliness for those they already know. The unwillingness of Russians to be friendly and helpful to strangers contributes to Russia’s corruption problem. Being friendly and helpful to strangers makes everyone’s lives better, and a nation more productive and understanding of others.

There actually is a disorder related to seasons. I think it is called seasonal affective disorder (SAD for short). Usually depression occurs during fall and winter, but lifts during spring and summer.
