I dont even like Instagram, but every time I post to my 300 followers, it gets more engagement than on Farcaster, even though I supposedly have over 30k followers here. Getting to the point where follower counts and likes don’t mean much. Im more interested in thoughtful discussion and actually connecting with ppl

i really think even just the farcaster app could be reddit 2.0 if they deemphasized follower counts and engagement rewards would reduce slop and exposure to slop for many of us imo

I agree. I really thought channels were going to become the tokenized subreddits we never truly got from Reddit. It’s never too late, but it’s not even clear to me what the long term vision is for Farcaster. I never heard of anyone say they joined because of mini-apps. Most ppl don’t even know what I mean when I say it’s like Twitter with a wallet built in lol

People usually join cuz their friends won’t shut up about it. Meanwhile I’m over here lowkey embarrassed trying to explain why it says I have 30k followers but barely any engagement. Add the crypto skepticism and yea… tough sell
