I’ve also been thinking about quitting Spotify. But I don’t think switching to Apple, YouTube, or Tidal is the answer. I’d rather go back to buying the music I listen to and actually getting the files, so I can download them and play them on whatever music player I want https://www.hearingthings.co/why-we-quit-spotify/

11289 kbps 🤯 Is it easy for indie artists to convert music to DSD format, or it has to be recorded with DSD-capable equipment?

Ahaha this album was at DSD128 format. This one at DSD512 is more huge. For indie artists, it doesn't make much sense to convert PCM audio to DSD. Usually the conversion make the sound worse with inferior transients but there're some albums that benefit from a good conversion like those of Susan Wong. Also to mention: if you're listening with low performance headphones, you don't get improvement with these formats and they will sound dull. Of course better if the recording was recorded in DSD or from master tape.
