I keep hearing this theory that the housing crisis will sort itself out as Zoomers and Millennials inherit their parents houses... and I'm just not sure that's going to be generally true. I think it's more likely that in most cases, those houses will be sold to pay for assisted living, end of life services and medical costs.

You are 100% accurate. Kids need to talk to their parents NOW about trusts and longterm care. I don’t think half know what the reality is

I think there is going to be a lot of people who end up looking after both their parents and their kids in housing that's way too small. It's legitimately scary.

I'm sorry to hear that Trish! I'm not sure if anyone will be brave enough to fix this problem since creating much needed, abundant, affordable housing potentially destroys a generation's retirement plans.... so I guess we just wait until everything super breaks?

Very unpopular opinion because we are in so deep and everything you say is true but I don’t real estate should be a speculative asset Right now I’m just trying to make enough so that my daughter isn’t stuck doing what I’m doing. Owning a home is probably never going to be in the cards for me. It sucks badly
