I have come to the conclusion that drivers in LA do not know how to deal with:

- corners / turns in the road 
- freeway exits 
- lanes merging 
- freeways merging 
- stopped cars 

If it is past 7am and any of these occur there will be backed up traffic for at least 2 miles
