Next.js right now feels like a weird paradox. You can’t fetch data in Client Components, but you also can’t mutate Server Components once they’ve mounted. So we’re left in this awkward middle zone where you create these tiny Server Components that just fetch data, and then pass

what are you guys using for farcaster web?

Programmer and writer. I build stuff for a living and for fun. Interests include reading, music, art, travel, photography, and random outbreaks of the future.

Astro has a fairly sane model (Islands) of clearly separating out what needs to run on the client and what can be generated at build time.

If you are building a blog or something with a lot of markdown content then Lume (running on Deno) is pretty good solution. Getting client side JavaScript to work is a bit fiddly but doable.

I’ve also heard good things about remix, svelte, and tanstack but not personally used them.

Are there better alternatives because I don’t want to stick with a dumpster fire

It’s a raging dumpster fire and the only framework I’ve used that seems to get worse with each release. 

I wasted half a day this week when their migrator choked on a very simple configuration file when upgrading to eslint 9.

The app router is also particularly bad and should be avoided at all costs.

It’s easy to set miniapps metadata, but outside of that super messy
