The biggest thing that slows me down right now is setting things up from scratch in new environments. Once they're up and running.

I'm also not using a lot of heavy tooling until it's needed or if it's quicker to set up than doing the simplest thing. (i.e. postgres vs sqlite, former has more managed options)

Last thing I was working on was a way to set up jobs that dumb data into the db with execution log for tracking, to support partial updates and eventually support dependencies.

I wanted to be able to schedule the jobs cron style but also be able to start them remotely, on demand.

Using a single go binary.

I'm currently building in a very iterative way without doing a full architectural design as I'd do before. So everything will keep changing as I expand the scope.

Would pay for a build log where you put small snippets and thoughts of why you did something or decided against something

Not sure of what types of data sources you work with but I have come to accept that stitching multiple SAAS platforms into a project is a more leveraged tactic than it used to be. For example Airbyte.
