It's much easier for folks coming from TS to pick up Go than other native languages.

Go is the lowest level language that still has garbage collection.

If you compress your data structure you can go faster. (Due to memory usage)

This is one reason I love serializing in binary protobufs and hate JSON. JSON is wasteful.
