Here's my idea, please don't steal it.  I'll be sad sad.

NFT Wormhole: A Surprise-Based NFT Redistribution Game

Vision Summary
NFT Wormhole is a surprise-and-delight redistribution platform for NFTs—part game, part vault, part mysterious delivery mechanism. Users “wormhole” (upload) NFTs into a shared, time-locked orderbook. In return, every time they make a purchase from the shared NFT market, they get airdropped a random NFT from the wormhole pool. It might be a common NFT… or a highly valuable grail. The result is a light, no-token, no-crosschain experience powered entirely by ETH and curiosity.

Core Mechanics

    Wormholing NFTs:
    Users deposit NFTs into the Wormhole. Each NFT must meet a floor-value threshold (e.g., 0.01 ETH). Deposited NFTs have a 1-year lifecycle—if they aren’t distributed within a year through the airdrop mechanism, they’re permanently removed (burned or archived).

Wormhole Seeds: A one-time boost. Allow users to “seed” their Wormhole entry with a note, image, or intention—purely symbolic—but attached to the NFT forever in the metadata (e.g., “For the next degenerate with better luck”).

    Decay Countdown: NFTs display a subtle visual effect as they near expiration (e.g., the border glitches or “decays” visually after 11 months), creating urgency and thematic flair.

    Vault Guardians (Optional): Users who contribute particularly rare NFTs may receive cosmetic or naming rights for a short time over Wormhole categories, e.g., “The Rektlord Vault of Forgotten JPEGs.”

Example

    You wormhole 3 NFTs: a Degen Ape, an art piece, and a meme token NFT.

    A week later, you buy a 0.003 ETH meme NFT from the Wormhole market.

    Boom. You’re airdropped a 0.2 ETH Tezos crossover NFT. Unexpected. Fun. Repeat.

The Soul of Wormhole
It’s a playful mechanic built on curiosity, entropy, and redistribution. You give to the void… and the void gives back. Or doesn’t. That’s the point. Set, forget, and be surprised.

Triggering the Surprise:
    Any time a user buys an NFT from the shared Wormhole orderbook, they trigger an airdrop of a random NFT from the vault—no matter the size or value of their purchase. The more purchases, the more surprises.

    No ERC-20s, No Tokens:
    The platform runs purely on ETH and NFTs. No governance tokens. No staking. No LPs. It’s simple: trade, get surprised.

Enhancement Ideas

    Rarity Pools: Segment NFTs into rarity tiers (Common, Rare, Legendary) based on historical sales data or floor price. Buyers could get lucky pulls across tiers—with odds adjusted by machine-learning models as metadata evolves.

    Airdrop History Journal: Every user has a public (or opt-in private) “Wormhole Log” showing their deposited NFTs, received NFTs, and “best pulls.” This adds social value—“Did you see someone just pulled a Deadfellaz Genesis from a 0.01 mint?”

Yes, correct.  I thought about that some more last night.  I think we'd have to categorize the input NFT values to match similar valued NFTs for output for every user.  Like a customized set of conditions based on rarity.  If you put in low value NFTs, your chance for a high value NFT is basically non-existent.  So there'd have to be a special algorithm to go along with it.

For me, the value prop is discovering new NFTs from similar valued collections.  The art man, I dunno, it moves me.

I can't keep up with every release, so this gives me an opportunity to do what I want, trade NFTs, and get surprised and delighted by my purchase/sale.  If you go in with the intent to get the outputted NFTs as #1 goal, then you probably aren't going to have as much fun as getting something new and going and discovering what it's about as a surprise.

The higher the value of NFTs you input, the greater percentage you get an even higher value NFT.  But we'd have to get sponsors for that to begin with.

Interesting! What would be then simplest pitch of the value proposition. Just want to understand better why people participate. Like:

“feed your NFTs to the wormhole and get…”

“Buy NFTs from the worm hole because…”

Feels like you need the feeders to get something better than they are giving, and the minters to at least have a chance to get a higher value NFT than what you put in, right?

Interesting, what kinds of deliverables are available to distribute?  What happens if the total amount of funding is never reached?  Let's say it is reached, the person gets the deliverable, but then the founder rugs later, does the platform do anything for the people who got rugged?  Does the final funding get escrowed or sent directly to the founder?

TL;DR - Yeah, I could really use some funding for certain things and have no understanding of how to approach it.  I'm just a humble dev, this would bridge that gap for me.  Although, my problem is also I'm not popular enough, so these would probably fail like most of my projects have in the past.  Hence my questions.  Also, rugging can also be perception, so I'm wondering how users might react if the project fails after the funding round is complete.
