During the desperate defense of Marqala, a young Luminary named Veya piloted one of the newly awakened Echoforms. Unlike the others, her machine was less weapon and more shield—designed to absorb and redirect Lum’s energy to protect civilians caught in the crossfire.

As the Regence’s forces advanced, Veya’s Echoform held a collapsing bridge long enough for dozens to escape. But the strain was immense; the machine’s core began to flicker, mirroring Veya’s own doubts about using such power in battle.

After the fight, while loading captured machine fragments, Rada found Veya beside her fading Echoform. Their eyes met—both weary, uncertain of what the future held.

Veya whispered, “We saved lives… but at what cost?”

That moment lingered—a quiet echo beneath the roar of victory and the shadow of capture.
