Not sure where to post this as I don't have access to post on /poker but feel like doing this for posterity: One week out from the World Series of Poker and I’ve never felt more unprepared than I do this year :-/ I know my friends/family think I play a lot of poker but since last World Series I’ve only played 6 tournaments That said, my results have been GOOD/repsectable and I’m doing an excellent job of running deep in every tournament I play. But I’ve barely anything to show for it as as I’ve been on the wrong side of variance every single time - only one cash in the last year. Insanely frustrating/disappointing all things considered: • Won a ring in HORSE last July (yay!) • 1 out of the money at the Orleans HORSE championship (lost to a 3 outer) last December • 2 out of the money in a PLO8 ring event in January • 11th of 49 in a TORSE ring event in January • 14th of 55 in a HORSE ring event in March • 16th of 57 in Big O in a ring event in March

wow this is amazing! How long have you been playing poker? I’ve been thinking about starting but I’m not sure where to start. Free games don’t seem like great practice, and I don’t have anyone to play with. Any advice on where should I start if I want to take it seriously? many thanks 🙏
