Been thinking about the user experience of the new Base App vs Farcaster App. It feels like they're becoming two different tools for two different jobs, and that's a brilliant thing for the ecosystem. The Base App: The perfect "front door" for the mainstream. It's simple, clean, and the best onboarding experience for someone's first on-chain social interaction. It's for broad reach. Farcaster Clients: The "power user" hub. It's for deep engagement, governance, and the rich, chaotic energy that drives the culture forward. It's for community depth. Super bullish on both.

I would never recommend base app in it's beta form However I can on-board people on to farcaster today without performing cb employee fellatio which maybe the normies are into

yes, at the moment the beta version is quite raw, but the potential is interesting, we all start with mvp one way or another

it's fine once you are in I understand they want to protect the services providing that service, but literally any other method than x thread giveaway posts would be better Instead a global company announced an app for their "for everyone" chain, hyped it being "not just coinbase wallet" but when you go install it is just coinbase wallet with an email form CTA Anyone that sends people to that "base app" just annoyed that person, imho they should stop talking about base app until there is a clear path for a normal person to install the app and get to the experience. If it's a $5 fee, fine. If it's verifying something with your KYC coinbase account, fine. But asking my aunt to follow @jesse.base.eth, turn on notifications, and be a reply guy to use an app for a "for everyone" chain. Hard pass. Try farcaster.
