in your experience, what is the app that makes you feel better when sharing your running sessions? is there any? i will start working on one on monday and i would use some inspiration based on you as an actual user of it. what would you like to be able to do inside? what's the simplest expression of it? for me it is dividing the practice of running into two possibilities: > volume > splits those are the two core "types of runs". the time can vary, but they are simple and recognizable missions that you have for a given session. for you it was clearly 4:50 and you nailed sharp. that's very impressive. congrats. would you like to have a cool format to share those stats? maybe the velocity v distance one. that's maybe the one that has more information that is compelling about that specific run. wdyt?

I don’t like any because of privacy concerns. I know I can make everything private to friends only, but I don’t like everything being public by default. e.g. what if I commented something on a friend’s private profile, and then they make it public later? or data breach or something, too much to care about I have my apple watch record to my iPhone, and I manually decide what to export (in my case, it’s just day + mileage values uploaded to fiveoutofnine.com) or post runs/workouts I want to share, like I do here not fit for everyone, but I like being able to fully manage my data for something like this because I see 0 benefit to sharing everything by default. don’t really care about the social aspect either because I can just post on other channels or tell people directly when I want to

but if you had like a nice way to share this, that was created by this app. wouldn't that add some nice value to your process? for me it would, but im trying to understand your perspective and privacy in what sense? and also: is it hard to get users to download their apple watch data and export it? do you consider that sensitive information or something that you are comfortable it being public?

hmm I guess I have thought about ways to display runs/workouts in a more visual format; was thinking something closer to a “standard”/art project than an app tho with apps like strava, I don’t even know what’s being exported/shared/stored, and I don’t care to know either because all I want to share is some runs sometimes, which is already guaranteed to be less than whatever any app would store apple healthkit APIs are pretty annoying to access without code I think, but Shortcuts provides an interface that’s good enough and lets me export just the stuff I want
