Last night while I couldn't sleep, I wrote this essay about what the future holds for my generation. Please consider giving it a read and sharing your thoughts, even if you disagree. I'm always open to the idea that I may be wrong. https://medium.com/@crsr404/what-future-awaits-the-youngest-generation-f91e85b74518

it is interesting to think about. i think it's a bit reductionist to say there's only 2 paths and I'm not sure i agree the paths today are mostly "traditional" its rapidly changing for all parts of the world some points that are relevant but missed; -technological progress has always looked like this. it causes displacement but makes way for new industry at the same time -it is a special point in human development. the breakthroughs that lie ahead are like magic if robots and AI become a net benefit, then that looks like more spare time for people to reconnect there has been other key points in history like around 600 BCE where religion became more dominant, it's believed these changes happen simply because people had more time to connect and question their surroundings now we're in the digital information age and questioning those surroundings. so ya interesting to think about

I will take these points into consideration and elaborate more in my next piece. Thank u so much for constructive feedback. Tbh I like this more than those who just agree wholeheartedly with me, because I learn from counter arguments and critiques. I don’t want to sound anti technology, more so the capitalistic way we utilize it. I also see the reductionist point of two paths. I would say there is a solid fork in the road and the two paths lead to branching paths of potential futures that are similar to either submission and complacency or change and revolution. You gave me thinking a lot and I will probably add a thank you to you at the end of my next essay.

i read your take as anarchocapitalist but that doesn't seem like your vibe I agree there's seems to be 2 major paths but I think it will develop like a spectrum. I highly doubt the technocratic future is for everyone but what is the thing that will ground people enough to not fully give in

I’m more of a leftist than anything. I’d describe myself broadly as a digital socialist with a touch of accelerationism. I’m a blend of many ideas tho and the roots of my philosophy came from Christian socialists like John Steinbeck, but I have evolved from that into a more modern version of those ideals

hmm what i mean is you wrote about the future in a fearful manner, or at least that's how it read to me. I think anarchocapitalists are mostly that way out of fear I suggest trying to write as if you really believe accelerationism is the best way forward and explore that. it might give more appreciation for the good ways that tech has and will advance us further imo fundamentals of religion, the basics that overlap are a good starting point. it's worked for centuries to some degree, I think science and spirituality will intertwine. I have no idea how it'll look, but the pope that was chosen could be an indication that this is thought about. I'd assume it's the same for all major religions that don't want to get swept away with AI

I was vague about my politics in this intentionally to draw readers in and not have people immediately draw conclusions about the ideas bc they see the words socialism or accelerationism. It’s written in a vague way that encompass and entices political beliefs of all kind. I wanted to draw readers in and have them abandon there presumptions/ biases by avoiding directly referencing or explaining a political philosophy. It’s a preamble to a series that will slowly incorporate that language
