Actually, I see conflicting information about the oldest trees in that area. I found a USGS document that says some are over 2,000 years old there (but this was in 1993, so not sure if some of those have died). Apparently, the ones that are standing even without leaves are still alive. But they are not as old as the ones in CA and NV which is another type of bristlecone pine and they can be 4,000 to 5,000 years old.

Yes, these are really old. The big ones almost 1,000 years in this area. Not as old as the Great Basin ones in California, but still up there. I read that a 40 year old Bristlecone Pine is about 6 inches tall.
