The price of a crypto asset matters if you own it already. 

It doesn't matter if you don't own it. It's downstream of market cap.

Hypothetical (unlikely to happen) -- Bitcoin does a 2:1 stock split. There are now 42 million BTC. Everyone 2x their balance.

The price is now 50% lower but the market cap stays the same.

wonder if there is a crossover point psychologically where high price = good, for the avg investor who doesn't understand the relationship between price and mc

low price = good
mid price = eh
high price = good

seems most ppl who started investing more actively over the last 5 yrs still don't understand the relationship between price and mc, pretty common i get asked "do u think ____ can get to $_____" - with no mention of mc, and usually an asset w a low price - every time i go straight to talking about mc, but idk if it ever sticks lol
