Everyone should take 5 minute to read this wonderful deep dive on Neynar scores, but if you canāt, hereās the TLDR. What is it? ā¢ Every Farcaster account has a score between 0 and 1 ā¢ New users begin at 0.5 ā¢ Scores are recalculated weekly, and every hour for accounts less than 30 days old What does the number mean? ā¢ Higher scores indicate value, lower scores indicate more noise ā¢ The score is not proof of humanity or proof of bots, only a measure of quality vs spam Who uses it? ā¢ Agents like Bracky use the score to decide who to reply to and mini apps like Eggs and QR use it to allocate tokens fairly and avoid farmers ā¢ Base uses it to filter notifications and engagement How does the algo work? ā¢ The algorithm is proprietary so it cannot be gamed ā¢ The model is trained on public and onchain signals, not demographics or content opinions ā¢ As Farcaster behaviors shift, the model is updated to keep pace and itās an ongoing system that adapts with the network But seriously, go read the full article because itās awesome.
