Looking for *existing* drugs that might be used off label to treat rare diseases In the US, this guy Dr. David Fajgenbaum is #1 one of the most well known guys doing this work. He put his own rare disease in remission using existing meds and then opened a lab to help others “Other laboratory discovery techniques have already put drug repurposing on the map. A.I. just puts rocket boosters on that” “Many drugs do more than one thing. Their additional features sometimes get characterized as side effects. There is insane alpha in repurposing of existing drugs - this is effectively what we are doing (except we are making existing drugs radioactive instead of applying them to different indications).
