if you find store bought cream cheese underwhelming like I do, you can just add lemon rind + juice, olive oil, and dill. it takes on a much lighter texture, closer to whipped.

in this case we used Riviera cream cheese but would work with anything

yes, it was me! though I no longer add lemon juice, just rind. I think the texture is too loose if you add juice.
