points that hit: > no advertisements! see your friends, not ads > potential to choose or augment your experience (alt clients, add-ons like mini apps, custom feed generation) the biggest pushback was that farcaster costs money to sign up to, when they found out it was $3 and going to decrease, everyone said they'd try it > did not mention blockchain at all > did not mention you could earn money through rewards or airdrops at all tldr; people were down to have a social experience with no ads where they can see their friends and who they follow more easily

i did however at first incorrectly translate advertisement to "avertissement" which actually means warnings so at first i was talking about a new social network with no warnings lmao
