I'm going to put a pause on writing blog posts for now. The platform is buggy right now. I'm taking a couple of weeks to see if things change. https://blog.epr.net/im-sorry

Came across a user research product called Synthetic Users on X. Very, very interesting! Reminded me of when I used ChatGPT to create six proto-personas to better understand collectors of /secondrealm's artwork. More → epr.net/personas Love seeing all the different ways LLMs can be used.

🚨New Stanford study confirms two of my core research findings on AI in the workplace. 🧠AI use correlates with drops in team trust. And companies value interpersonal work as AI automates tasks. 📄Their study: http://futureofwork.saltlab.stanford.edu 🤖My research: http://fowlab.net

Not exactly. Retraining is useful in terms of task disruption. But I was referring to how AI use erodes trust and team dynamics. AI is changing how people relate to each other at work.

Yeah, my sample had 299 participants. But a new Stanford study with 1,500 confirmed a lot of what I found. AI use often correlates with drops in team trust. And they also echoed my finding that as analytical tasks get commoditized, organizations will start valuing interpersonal work more. Here's that researcher's breakdown of their study: https://x.com/EchoShao8899/status/1933178209484603725

Thanks for the prompt! Here you go: AI use improves efficiency, but it also erodes team trust and weakens interpersonal dynamics. Surprisingly, knowledge workers, often assumed to be best positioned to benefit from AI, report the most negative impacts compared to those in service or civic roles.
