Founder-Market Fit- Are you the right person to solve the problem? One common reason many startups fail is the person and people behind the project. Founder-market fit means that there is a strong match between a founder's background, their skills, experience, passion, and the market they're building for. Founder market fit doesn't mean you should only build what you know; however, your background should give you an unfair advantage. Understanding founders market fit can be as simple as answering: Do I have credibility in this space? Do I deeply understand this customer's problems? Does my background give me insights others might miss? Am I genuinely passionate about this problem beyond its monetary potential?

Signs of a poor fit: You would not use your product. You have no unique insight over competitors. You don't know where to find your early users. You are attracted to the space because it seems trendy. So, this month, ask yourself, am I the right person to build this solution? What makes me, or my team, uniquely suited for it and not someone else? Do we bring something special to the table? If the answer is unclear, it might be time to rethink the fit.
