appreciation post for @edgecity: to me, the most discouraging part of social media is how it erodes nuance and flattens complexities into zero-sum binaries and moral absolutism. you’re either good or evil, right or wrong, with us or against us. on my first night at Edge, i heard @timour and @audreyt speak about Plurality: “not about one truth winning out, but many truths coexisting and generating better questions.” the concept hit. i had just left LA in the midst of protests. since then, the Israel–Iran conflict erupted. hundreds of thousands marched for No King’s Day. the US Army celebrated its 250th birthday. all events that ignite immediate, polarized takes online. plurality offers us a different approach. it shifts from judgment (who's right?) to generative conversation (what's true for you? how can we find common ground to build better together?) if we want change or progress, we should start there more often. and remember: most humans want other humans to be safe and free from violence.

This applies to a world in peace. Only works in a non-existential threats environment (not sure it is the correct way to spell this 🥸)
