The problem with Star Wars is movie by committee. George Lucas, say what you will, had a singular vision. His ex wife was a narrative genius who cut it into fantastic movies but it’s still all shit from this guys head. Kathleen Kennedy has a room of 30 people who love Star Wars and story and blah blah and what you see on the screen is a result of everyone in there agreeing it to life.
