this week has been hard. mila has been sick since monday. yesterday we decided to bring her to the doctor. she gave us antibiotics. we don’t like antibiotics. turns out mila hates them. whoever designed this to be the way we should give drugs to our kids:

why? why not a gummy bear? i can see the trauma arising on mila as we force her to take this and it is suffocating

agggggghh i felt goosebumps of frustration reading this. insane. and there is such a asymmetrical relationship in those situations that it makes it even more frustrating

I know your pain. once had to sit through a nurse digging for a vein in my 3yo's arm, and when I finally couldn't take it any more and asked why they were doing such a horrible job it turned out that the lab wasn't equipped to do blood draws from children so they were using the smallest adult size needle they had, which was too large to get a vein in my child. I have never been so furious in my life. to this day, I cannot fathom why they wouldn't simply have asked us to go to a lab that was properly equipped in the first place.

seeing them hurt is so sad indeed. ive gotten very visceral reactions seeing her being attended. the other day we had to take blood out of her and it was also so painful (and we couldn’t do it at the end)
