This is kind of true and untrue at the same time. There’s been plenty of modern philosophers and writers, they aren’t called as such though, critical theorists etc. also at the same time every philosopher ever has been either remixes of traditions that came before them both in the East and West and therefore nothing is ever new etc etc but interpretation itself is a perspective that changes based on context over and over Product is almost never a new kind of philosophy ever for because it hinges on different incentives compared to investigations of ontology or epistemology etc or just reflections and musings of the current state of things

thinking of it; even the assumption that there is no new philosophy anymore is a philosophy

I don’t think that there is no new philosophy anymore. I think there’s plenty of things to say about the world, interpretations reinterpretations investigations, new situations for ethics morality, investigation into the reality of the universe, aesthetics. I don’t think there’s ever an end. But at the core do they touch a lot on the same themes? Absolutely yes
