Per this analogy, the strategy is basically: channel your inner Karen and demand to speak to the manager of global trade https://x.com/theallinpod/status/1910001338722681003

In this analogy, Karen also runs the police force. And they have drones, aircraft carriers and nuclear weapons.

What are your preferred semantics for describing the asymmetric cost of outdated warfare? https://www.foxnews.com/politics/navy-kilby-houthi-missiles-red-sea-costs

It's a proxy war with Iran. It can end quickly if we actually want it to.

It's a "the way to end it is a significant escalation in a long-running proxy war with a medium-sized military power and the last three administrations have been hesitant to start another war in the Middle East for differing reasons"

So how do you stop the punks conducting a war machine arb on you, if you can’t escalate?

I think they may end up escalating unfortunately. Also, the punks are attacking your annoying neighbors cars as they drive to the gas station. Doesn't actually affect you (esp. since your neighbors keep pretending they are self-sufficient).

It's factual? The US doesn't have any meaningful commerce through the Suez Canal. Europe needs it for both imports from Asia and Middle East. They have no ability to protect their shipping. Thus why so many ships are adding a few weeks to the journey going around Africa.

It’s weird to keep highlighting one part of the bargain but not the other The trade *we* made was that we’ll subsidize the routes with our monopoly on blue water navy if you use our asset to price all your goods It’s fine to change the deal, but now there’s a real cost to bear
