as many have said, this is not ai -> this is only text processing and i wonder how engineers will accomplish the last 20% of work (where true intelligence is crucial) because it seems that we have 80%, or at least 50%, of work getting done by llms. this tech is really powerful though

Good retort on the paper if that's what you're into: https://www.seangoedecke.com/illusion-of-thinking/ IMO we don't have good goal posts on "true intelligence" and "reasoning", gotchas in either direction keep getting broken with another loop here, system prompt there, a fresh model, etc. But as you said, none of this matters for Apple as a business, they'll be fine.

Yeah, LLM by themselves is nothing. Itโs the data and context (see sky.app). Apple has the massive iPhone data on device. Of course, doing all that on device is hard so the day of โrealโ apple intelligence is still far away.
