i am once again asking you to remember that how farcaster looks to a rando woman on twitter or elsewhere is not how it looks to us, my suspicion is that ppl's viewpoints here are really skewed due to group chats

it was a great opportunity to get back into a classic hobby enjoyed by many guys: having opinions about women online

Honestly, I don’t think it’s possible. And if it is, it will only be by constant fighting in the face of disrespect. Most artists and feral woman don’t have that time or inclination 

From many perspectives there’s not much to fight for.  Algorithms can change but the overall contempt coming from corporate likely won’t

People should go where they are wanted

I think as users we have some obligation to carve out spaces we control on FC. Whether that’s on an alt client, or just a channel.

Small networks breed tribes, monocultures. The more variety we can support the better for the health of the collective 

I get where you’re coming from, but also don’t really have context to what you’re referring to specifically

So much. I agree but also, nearing the end of the road here I think. Some days, i feel alright but more and more its F this place at the protocol level. 

Then I think maybe I’m wrong and certainly don’t want to cause harm to good developers building herw. I worry about that and hope they take notice of how people FEEL when they are engaging here 

I have many more thoughts but perhaps better in an essay or Tavern. Then I think why bother.

I’m not idealistic in the way you might think. I’ve been onboarding people to new clunky tech for a while. Being able to participate and giving feedback on great platforms gives me a buzz. I really wanted to believe. 

The obstacle for me is I’ve watched too many people for too long treated with disrespect and disregard. 

I might be too jaded. Like right now I can’t imagine unseeing it even if there was more thoughtful changes to the algorithm etc. I know how dwr feels about people and that attitude feels baked in. It’s a hurdle I might not overcome 

Not saying everyone but this is where I am tonight.

I'm really really really interested in figuring out together how to create conditions for positive-sum relationships only and root out any parasitic and extractive bullshit. Without anyone needing to be altruistic.

It should all flow smooth like butter. A bit idealistic ofc. But I really do have this as a totally reasonable vision in my head. So it's saddening to see that people are giving up.

I think your comment speaks to your sensitivity already. 

Many cases of thoughtful feedback given to the higher ups only to be told their not interesting or scoffed. This is insensitive 

Then when an “uninteresting” person goes to trending and sees a lot of mid takes by people w big bags…. It’s not the vibe

Some people (the most interesting kind) recoil at having to play games in order to sit at the lunch table.
