Do you really need supplements to get strong? ( A thread 🧵) Most beginners rush to buy whey protein, creatine, or mass gainer. But miss the basics: training, food, and recovery. If you’re new to training, your biggest gains come from: 👉🏾 Consistent training. 💪🏾 👉🏾 Eating enough whole foods. 🍳 🍗 👉🏾 Sleeping 7-9 hours. 😴 👉🏾 Practicing good form. 🏋🏾‍♂️ Supplements cant replace these… Supplements become useful when: 👉🏾 You’re training hard 4-6x/week. 👉🏾 Your nutrition is dialed in. 👉🏾 You’ve hit a plateau. 👉🏾 You’re chasing performance, not just gains. 1/4

What does supplements actually do? Supplements fill the gaps in your nutrition or recovery and can provide a performance edge, but they don’t replace the basics. Creatine: Boosts power output. Protein powder: Fills nutrition gaps. Pre-workout: Improves energy & focus. Magnesium, D3, etc…: Supports recovery. What supplements can’t do: ❌ Fix a bad program. ❌ Replace sleep. ❌ Compensate for poor nutrition. ❌ Build discipline for you. 2/4

So when should you start using supplements? If you ask me, i would say… 🫵🏾 Once your training is consistent at least 6-12 months upwards. 🫵🏾 Your diet is solid, supplements can then fill the little gaps, this way, you won’t have to rely on supplements alone. 🫵🏾 When your progress has gotten slow. So those using supplements are not better than those not using it, and vice versa. It’s not a competition kids. You would see some people not using supplements and tag themselves “natural”. Mfer you get these things from food too, just in smaller quantities. 3/4

And NO, supplements won’t give you health issues “IF YOU DONT ABUSE THEM.” If you can afford them do, if you can’t it’s fine just keep putting in the work (For 2 months+ now, i haven’t used any supplements, just whole foods like my eggs etc, i eat a lot in one sitting too😉). This is my current body state, still have a lot of muscles to put on. It’s okay to not use supplements tbh, but the brutal truth is, if you’re chasing elite level physique, you’re most likely deceiving yourself, except you can consume the same amount of food equal to 5g of creatine. Which is unrealistic and stressful. Thank you for reading to the end. 🙏🏾 4/4
