Musicolour, Gordon Pask, 1953-7

Musicolour was a projection wheel controlled by a servomechanism that was the first cybernetic art machine created by Gordon Pask, English cybernetician and psychologist. The Musicolour system was inspired by the concept of synesthesia and the general proposition that the aesthetic value of a work can be enhanced if the work is simultaneously presented in more than one sensory modality.
