Every few years I go through my 35mm archives. I spend maybe 30 minutes a day and It takes several weeks. Every time I find new photos I forgot about and so many insane memories. When I die whoever finds my archive is gonna have a wild time going through it all.

how did you end up getting so close to the pornstar/stripper scene? i love all the wild stories — feels like you've lived a bunch of different lives, lol.

It's a really long story but I was a punk kid and I googled "punk nudes" and nothing came up except for a site called Suicide Girls which had just launched. I ran a website at the time so I traded them promo for an account, eventually they got competitors so I would reach out to those sites and sort of became the go to for "alt porn" site reviews. Then when I moved to NYC in 2006 one of my friends was a b horror director and made halloween short for a local alt porn company called Burning Angel. I started hanging out with that crew a lot and eventually went to the "Oscars of Porn" the AVN Awards with them. Those photos did well so I kept getting sent back to cover it, made more friends and eventually started dating someone in the industry, working for Hustler and it just sort of became my friend group.

epic. if you had to choose one picture that represented all this experience. or who you were in that moment. or how who you are today was expressed on that moment. which one would you choose?

Damn lol I think I did that exact same search, or naked punk chicks, or something. That site affected young female punk/edgy fashion so fucking hard it was crazy, or maybe reflected it with a fidelity unfamiliar to me. Was a weird era, so innocent though in retrospect. And I think at the exact same time there was the Pussycat Dolls, a fully legit burlesque troop at the Rainbow Room. No, Viper room? Whatever, then they became an unremarkable dancepop business.. I dunno why all of that just now lol. Wait the Pornstar brandname started right then too, huh?
