Something I Don’t Get We’re living in the best era in human history—and almost no one talks about it. Think about it: even the lowest-income earners in the West today have access to medicine, food, entertainment, and transportation that kings, emperors, and even Rockefeller couldn’t dream of. That’s not an exaggeration. We’ve won the lottery of time and place. Most of our core needs are handled. So why do so many keep chasing more, like it’s never enough? Sure—if you’re building something meaningful, ambition is fuel. But the endless pursuit just for more status, more numbers, more stuff? Feels like we’re forgetting how insanely lucky we already are. Being average today is extraordinary by any past standard. Appreciate that. Share that. Most people won’t—and that’s exactly why you should.

Except we had all of that stuff in the late 90s except we also weren’t addicted to tech, the cost of living vs average income was much better, gas was cheap, the dot com bubble, 9/11 and Columbine hadn’t happened yet, etc. So if you are comparing stuff to your own lifetime or your parents lifetime, things are getting worse.
