Just getting to the point where you can buy a house is expensive. You gotta hire all sorts of people to make sure the place is okay. I sold some ETH that's been on my Ledger since 2021 and for some reason I sent it straight to Coinbase before swapping to USDC. They were trying to charge me a $85 fee for the swap. Bruh. I had to send that shit back swap it and send it back to Coinbase to cash out, making my taxes that much more complicated. Even after sending L1 ETH back and forth I still paid like $80 less in gas than Coinbase was charging. There is like an 80% chance whoever came up with that bullshit is on Farcaster so let me know who it was so I can fight them.

Lmao coinbase fees are absolutely criminal. And the fact that the fees can change depending on where you make the trade in the app is even more sus. I remember when I first got into the space thinking I was about to make $100 on a trade and after all the fees I made like $15 😅 Coinbase is for USDC only now

not a solution, but you should switch to advanced and place a limit sell order - it should give you SLIGHTLY better fees than market selling on the basic app.

CB has some pretty brutal spreads, usually ~1%. I think the subscription brings that down somewhat. if you’re ever planning to off-ramp a significant amount, it’s worth getting set up with an OTC desk. usually you can get down to 0.4-0.6% ish.

Been there. IMO, CEXs are only for on-ramp/off-ramps or the occasional limit order when absolutely have to have a trade done a certain way. Otherwise your just a normie to exploit
