It seems like Tucker Carlson has in-fact interviewed Vladimir Putin... Is this bad, good, horrible? Free speech vs. giving a stage to those who shouldn't have one?

To me it seems important to have some insight into the minds of significant world leaders. But we have to be aware that this will likely be heavily biased and full of propaganda. I don’t think that completely invalidates the interview though, but you have to read between the lines.

Like I’d love if someone also interviewed Kim Jong Un, I wonder wtf that guy is thinking, his world view, etc

We've know his mind very well! And actions speak more than words. East Europeans have experience dealing with him but americans are detached (obviously as USA is so far away) and will easily fall to his propaganda.
